1972 Chevrolet

This 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer was restored and repainted in red and white, powder-coated the frame, and installed a 5.3-liter L83 V8 mated to a 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission and an NP208c dual-range transfer case. Additional work consisted of adding a sunroof to the removable hardtop as well as installing Wilwood front disc brakes, a 6″ suspension lift, upgraded audio components, a Vintage Air HVAC system, LED headlamps, Dakota instruments, 4.11:1 gears, and a painted roll bar. The truck was recently acquired by the selling dealer after which the interior was reupholstered and 17″ Fuel wheels with 37″ mud-terrain tires were installed .

The body was removed from the frame and repainted in red and white. Features include side steps, chrome bumpers, a refinished roll bar, a receiver hitch, LED headlamps, Cheyenne quarter-panel badging, and a removable hardtop modified with a sunroof.

The ride height is said to have been raised approximately 6″ and the braking system was modified with Wilwood cross-drilled front discs. Polished 17″ Fuel wheels are mounted with 37×12.50″ BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires, and Warn locking hubs are fitted up front.

The interior was fitted with front buckets and rear bench upholstered in tan vinyl with plaid inserts joined by replacement tan carpets and bowtie-branded floor mats. Features include refinished body-color steel surfaces, a Vintage Air HVAC system, an Alpine double-DIN stereo with a backup camera, Alpine speakers, wood-grain accents, and a center console with cupholders.

A two-spoke steering wheel frames Dakota Syndicate Series instruments including a 7k-rpm tachometer and a 140-mph speedometer.

The 5.3-liter L83 V8 was reportedly sourced from a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban and features a Corvette intake and throttle body, direct fuel injection, and a Painless wiring harness.

The 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission routes power through a reportedly rebuilt NP208c dual-range transfer case. The frame, axles, and crossmembers were power-coated in black, and 4.11:1 gears were installed at each end.
